If you are in the country without legal status, there is an important deadline approaching. You must take action within the next two months to either resolve your legal status or leave Russia. Failing to do so will result in expulsion measures and a ban on your future entry into the country.
It is important to note that after September 10, 2025, it will be impossible to legalise your stay in Russia. Specifically, Decree No. 1126 will no longer be in effect.
This decree currently allows foreign citizens and stateless persons who have lost their legal grounds for residence in Russia to regularize their situation. After this date, it will not be possible to resolve your legal status, so it is necessary that you act now.
To ensure you can continue to stay legally in Russia, please reach out to the appropriate authorities before September 10. You can do this by visiting:
- Any branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise ФГПУ ПВС of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia МВД. You can find the nearest branch at your actual place of residence by visiting their website.
- Moscow City Government’s Moscow Migration Center “Sakharovo” ММЦ Сахарово if you are residing in Moscow.
- The nearest migration department of the МВД (Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia).
Remember, time is running out, and it is vital that you take action soon to avoid any negative consequences regarding your stay in Russia. Please ensure that you address your legal status before the deadline to secure your future in the country.
