Are you the ‘I see it, I want it, I get it’ geng?

Yes, you. Stay here, we’re talking to you.

Or are you the ‘You only live once’ geng? We have one or two things or you.

Impulse buying is the tendency to purchase things even without planning. Interestingly, quite a number of people are at this table. Some can even buy clothes or anything they fancy with their last cash, even if it means they’ll starve. And the common factor that spurs this action is that a person thinks they must make that purchase.

I have news for you.

This might be the reason you cannot explain how exactly you spent your money. It might be the reason your space is cluttered. Shops and businesses use several tricks to make individuals purchase their goods on impulse. Even online stores are not left out as certain discount and sale prices can push people to impulsively buy goods.

Now, you can’t always plan your purchase. It’s not every time a person gets to write out every single thing they want to buy but if you find yourself consistently buying things you never planned to buy, it is time to check yourself.

The other side of impulse buying

You will eat into your savings- Once a person starts making unplanned purchases, trust me, they will start spending money they didn’t plan to spend, in other words, their savings. In fact, the price of that item might seem insignificant sometimes. “Just a few rubles won’t hurt”, but gradually a dent is being made in your bank account and this inevitably leads to a person being broke.

You will have a lot of clutter- Items, at the moment of purchase, might look very important whether they are clothes, jewellery or household items but because a person might already have several of these, it leads to a cluttered home. A person always buying new things will eventually have too much to handle.

Less money for important purchases- An individual spending money on unnecessary things will most probably find themself unable to cater for the important things like bills and fees.

To prevent yourself from buying things on impulse, a great deal of self-control is required. Focusing on other useful things the money you are about to spend can be used on is a key to staying clear of making unimportant purchases.

Finally, before you buy, sleep on it. Make a budget for yourself each month and if you are going shopping, make sure it’s purposeful.

Remember to make the right decisions. #E-SolutionsDeyForYou
