What is this new temporary order on withdrawal of hard currencies from my Russian bank accounts?
From 9th of March to 9th of September, Central Bank of Russia has established the following temporary rules for withdrawal of hard currencies.
You can withdraw a maximum amount of $10,000 (it doesn’t matter if your account is in Euros or Swiss Franc, etc). You are allowed to withdraw the sum of $10,000 only. The left over amount can be withdrawn in Rubles only at the current central bank exchange rate.
This means if you have $90,000 in your dollar account, you can only withdraw $10,000 in cash. The left over $80,000 will be paid to you in Rubles at the central bank exchange rate.
